10th anniversary of the EIB office in Prague

On 24 September, Chargé d'Affaires e.p. Gabriel Baptista attended the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the European Investment Bank (EIB) office in Prague, an important milestone marking a decade of bringing European investment closer to the Czech Republic.

On this occasion, Mr Baptista met EIB Vice-President Marek Mora and exchanged views on the Bank's role in supporting Czechia's long-term development and competitiveness.

The EIB's contribution to the Czech economy spans a wide range of sectors, including railways, energy and electricity infrastructure, transport, affordable housing and access to finance for businesses.

The event was also an opportunity to reflect on the particularly close relationship between the EIB and Luxembourg, where the Bank has been headquartered since 1968. Over the years, this proximity has developed into a strong partnership, notably in climate finance, sustainable investment, innovation and international development.

A good example of this cooperation is the Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform (LCFP), which mobilizes investment for climate mitigation and adaptation projects around the world.
