Published Tuesday December 17 2013

The Estonian School of Diplomacy together with the three Benelux embassies accredited to Estonia held a lecture introducing their countries and Benelux cooperation in Tallinn on December 9, 2013. The Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Luxembourg to Estonia, Mr. Frank Biever, delivered a speech on “Benelux as a laboratory of the EU, lessons learnt from it”. The Embassy of the Netherlands was represented by Ambassador H.E. Mr Jos Schellaars and the Kingdom of Belgium by Ambassador H.E. Mr. Marc Thunus. The three presentations were complemented by a session of Q&A and a group work on a topic: "How the regional cooperation model of Benelux could be adopted in your region – preconditions, ideal and reality?”; evaluated and commented by the Ambassadors and Dr. Vahur Made, Deputy-Head of the Estonian School of Diplomacy. The Estonian School of Diplomacy hopes the Benelux session will become a tradition for its Tallinn-based study group.
