Monique Scheier-Schneider enters the IIHF Hall of Fame

Published Monday May 18 2015

Mrs. Scheier-Schneider is the first Luxembourger to enter the Hall of Fame of Ice Hockey. She was awarded the Paul Loicq Award for outstanding contributions to international hockey on 18 May 2015 in Prague. Involved in ice hockey for nearly four decades, Mrs. Scheier-Schneider was elected to the IIHF Council in September 2008 becoming the third-ever female member to join the Council.

Monique already experienced many highlights in her work for ice hockey: she was a supervisor at the Women's tournament at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 and President of the Women's World Cup 2011 in Switzerland. But she has also been active in the background, elaborating and introducing new game regulations for the World Championships.
