  • Kalima Trio plays in Jazz Dock on 6th June Statement 15/05/12 11:56:00

    The charismatic World & Chamber Jazz trio – the winner of the Audience Choice Award at the Tremplin JAZZ d'Avignon 2009 - will not fail to surprise with its daring approach to an uninhibited and intimate jazz. Highly melodic lines and dynamic rhythmical moments define the songs, delicately settled between modern jazz and imaginary folklore. KALIMA’s music leads the audience through very distinctive and original harmonic moods and landscapes.

  • Trio Bohemia Luxembourg performed in Prague’s prestigious Rudolfinum Statement 10/05/12 12:54:00

    On the evening of 2nd May, the Trio Bohemia Luxembourg performed in Prague’s prestigious Rudolfinum. The Trio, composed of the Czech harpist Kateřina Englichová, viola player Jitka Hosprová and Luxembourg flautist Carlo Jans is the first ever permanent chamber music ensemble to combine Czech and Luxembourg musicians. The excellent reputation of the Trio reflected in a fully booked concert hall.

  • Days of European Film 2012 Statement 02/04/12

    On the occasion of the 19th year of the Days of European Film, festival of contemporary European cinematography, Luxembourg presents the film "Quartier lointain" by Sam Garbarski. The film will be aired on 17th April 2012 at 5pm in Cinema Lucerna (Prague), on 22nd April at 8.30pm in Cinema Art (Brno) and on 26th April 2012 at 7.30pm in Boskovice.

  • Artworks of Frank Jons (L) and Jüri Kask (EE) on display in Tallin Statement 16/03/12

    Artworks by a Luxembourg painter Frank Jons and Estonian artist Jüri Kask are co-exhibited in Tallinn, at the newly opened 1Galerii. The exhibition supported by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs is open from March 5 to June 5, 2012.

    The 1Galerii is a special venue at the heart of Tallinn Old Town, conveniently located at 4 Rüütli Str. It is brought to life by the Luxembourg Honorary Consul in Estonia, Vahur Kraft, and the non-profit organization called “Luksemburgi Sõprade Selts“ or “ The Friends of Luxembourg society” and is aimed at bringing together Estonian and Luxembourg artists and promoting cultural exchange between the two countries. The 1Galerii opened its doors in December 2011 to host the works of Priit Pärn (EE) and Marc Bertemes (LU).

  • 20.03.2012 – Special art&video evening in Kino 35 at the French Institute in Prague Statement 13/03/12

    In the framework of the Days of Francophonie, a special art&video evening will be held on 20th March at 6pm in Kino 35 at French Institute. Three series of art videos made by young francophone artists, among them Luxembourg artist Jeff Desom, will be presented.
    Between the projection series, culinary specialties from different countries including from Luxembourg, will be offered. Free entry.

  • Days of Francophonie in Estonia Statement 12/03/12

    In the framework of the Days of Francophonie in Estonia from March 10-20, 2012, the Luxembourg Embassy will be represented at the opening ceremony of the festivities on March 10 and with the Luxembourg film “Plein d’essence” by Geneviève Mersch (2007). The film will be shown on March 14 at 5.15pm at the Greek Embassy in Tallinn. The Festival is organized by the French Institute in cooperation with the French, Greek, Swiss, Belgian, Canadian and Luxembourg Embassies.

  • Annual International Christmas Bazaar takes place on 13th November at the Hilton Hotel Statement 20/10/11

    The International Christmas Bazaar is a prestigious annual event organized by the spouses of the Ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic missions in Prague. An important boost to its success is the patronage of Mrs. Livia Klausova, the wife of the President of Czech Republic who kindly inaugurates it every year. A great variety of products from all over the world is offered for sale. The main purpose of the Bazaar is to raise funds to assist humanitarian organization in the Czech Republic.
